You must be intentional about your personal and professional growth because growth doesn’t just happen. “People are anxious to improve their circumstances but are unwilling to improve themselves: they therefore remain bound.” James Allen

During our session this month, we discussed 8 growth gap traps. They are listed below. Which ones are holding back? What are you doing to remove these traps so you can be more intentional about your personal and professional growth?

  1. The Assumption Gap—-”I assume that I will automatically grow.”
  2. The knowledge Gap—-“I don’t know how to grow.” Designer, artist and consultant Loretta Staples says “If you are clear with what you want, the world responds with clarity.”
  3. The Timing Gap—-“It’s not the right time to begin
  4. The Mistake Gap—-“I am afraid of making mistakes.”
  5. The Perfection Gap—-“I have to find the best way.”
  6. The Inspiration Gap—- “I don’t feel like doing it.” The whole idea of motivation is a trap. Forget motivation. Just do it.
  7. The Comparison Gap—-“Others are better than I am.”
  8. The Expectation Gap—-“I thought it would be easier than this.”

Jim Rohn said, “You can’t change your destination overnight, but you can change your direction overnight.”
